I met a poet in Taos market who, with a few prompts from me (4 squares, horizon and vanishing point), wrote the following on an old-fashioned typewriter -
Those four eyes
of rosy iris lenses
cast their gaze
upon the dawning day
where the sun is risin'
right at the horizon
with the sky on
*fire*
as the moon retires
and light climbs higher
and we cease to tire
keen to try our
art
all around these parts —
here and there
installing our four squares
